Just an fyi for anyone out there I have been very careful to avoid soy since I am definitely sensitive to it. When I eat it I get joint pain flair up the next day about 24 hours later at about a 3 (on a scale of 10). By the next day I am at a 5 and that lasts for 2 days then I drop back to a 3, then 2 and it takes about a week to get back down to a 1.

Anyway I don't eat any foods with Soy in them and check my soaps, ect that I am exposed to but one thing I have been using for months and never checked was hand lotion. I was very surprised to see lotion can contain soy too but found that out this morning when checking mine. Hope this may help someone else find all those hidden things.

Another highly hidden source of soy exposure is olive oil, which is sometimes used as a source material in the making of soaps and lotions.

At least some olive oil in the United States is illegally adulterated with soy oil and sometimes other oils.

For details:  http://katrinasmall.wordpress.com/2008/11/30/how-pure-is-our-olive-oil/

In Europe the illegal adulturation of olive oil tends to be done with hazelnut oil, but it can also be adulterated with canola, soy, sunflower and perhaps other oils.

Read this New Yorker article for more information on illegal adulteration of olive oil in Europe:
