Hello I'm Paul and I've got Rheumatoid Arthritis. Had it since 1998, when it came out of the blue one day other than that I was fit and healthy and working at the time riding my bike to work each day. I knew something about it since my brother-in-law had the disease so I knew I was in for a rough ride. These were the days when the internet wasn't quite here yet, if it had been things may have been different for me.
I was diagnosed quickly and for the first 3 years took the drugs they handed out ( big regret!), anyway my body doesn't like drugs and I found out the hard way and ended up in hospital again and again, in a very bad way.Luckily the hospital had a homeopathic rheumatologist that I had access to, phew what a relief, he was talking my language, I still see him today by the way,( he's the Queens homeopathic doctor as well!).
So here I am today 50 years old, skinny legs a couple of inflammed joints and cant walk much and own a scooter, fighting my RA with food!
Basically I like Dr John Mc Dougalls approach to the whole food thing and I've just read Barbara's book , I'm trying to find the foods that are hurting, but in the meantime I'm basically being vegan, gluten and wheat free. I'm not as methodical as I should be but I am dogmatic. I'm sure I'll get there!

phew !

regards

Paul

Hi Paul,

Welcome to the forum!

The key to fighting arthritis with food is to first identify your current food and chemical triggers.  They can change with time and are often include at least a few foods you are currently eating many times a week or even everyday.  Good luck with the identification process.
