Hi,

I'm Barbara Allan, author of the book Conquering Arthritis and administrator of this forum.  Many of you already know my story because you have read my book or my story on this webpage:  http://conqueringarthritis.com/barbara_allan.htm

I will be dropping by from time to time.  I may answer some questions.  Mainly, I hope this forum creates a community of people healing from arthritis and sharing what they know with each other.  One of the best ways to take your own healing to the next level is to learn from someone who has already done what you wish to do (heal arthritis) and then return the favor by teaching what you just learned to someone else (for instance, other forum members).

Hi,

My name is Josh. I was diagnosed with RA about 8 years ago.
I am 71.

The RA weaked my Achilles tendon to the point that it peeled off
my heel. The surgeon who repaired it said I had "Inflamatory Arthritis".

I have been on various infusions since 2004. They seem to keep
the RA at bay, however, I have "flares" occasionaly ( some are very painful). A Med-Packof Predisone will stop it if I catch it in time.

I have little day to day pain, but lots of fatigue, muscle loss, weakness, and stiffness.

Remicade plus a very high dose of methotraxate gave me fibrosis
in my lungs.

I am interested in the ALCAT test.

Hi Josh,

Welcome to my forum.

Wow, your Achilles tended peeling off your heel sounds intense.  Have you been able to have it successfully reattached?

Given your tendon problems, I recommend being careful not to overuse prednisone.  It can weaken bones and joints.

For more info on the ALCAT test:  http://www.ConqueringArthritis.com/alcat or you can ask questions here in this forum.
