day 15 of the rotation diet..My arthritis continues to subside..I am playing squash at 95% now with no burning...I am a little sore afterwards but nothing major..in fact I did yoga, swam laps and played squash yesterday with almost no pain at all..still my ankles and feet don't feel like they did pre arthritis..I am still hopping for a complete recovery..
No issues with the diet and it's become so easy as I've become used to the days and foods I can have on that specific day..I've established snack foods for each day so I don't get hungry..
The big test comes when I discontinue the Humira..I'm taking my third shot today...

Hate to post so much but perhaps someone will come across this one day and see that there is hope for RA. Today I woke up with no pain. I played squash as hard as I played pre arthritis and I had no stiffness or burning afterwards. I experienced no pain while I was playing either. 2 months ago I thought my days of walking normally were over much less participating in any sporting events.
I wish I knew the diet was solely responsible and that I am 100% healed for good but I cannot be certain of anything. I have taken 3 shots of Humira that could be responsible for my decrease of symptoms. I do believe the diet has helped but we will see when I discontinue the Humira.

Day 21 of the rotation diet...If I had to self diagnose I would say my arthritis is in remission. I have played very intense squash with no issues and very little soreness afterwards. Th mornings after squash I maybe a little sore but it only last a few minutes. In addition the psoriasis under my nails has disappeared but not my knees yet.
will keep updating..

Day 36 of the rotation diet..The diet is now routine and I have no cravings whatsoever for any foods outside of what's allowed for me. My arthritis is basically gone though I feel a pinch every now and then. I am playing sports as hard as I ever was and with back to back days. I am also on my 4th Humira shot. There's no doubt the HUmira was instrumental in getting the inflammation down. I just hope my gut heals with the diet. I'm still doing yoga in the dry sauna. I make sure and do the child's pose everyday to keep the circulation in the ankles and feet..
more soon..

Glad to hear all is well, my RA has flared up no end and I don't know why, despite being on the Mc Dougall diet I will now have to give up beans and legumes, rice and potatoes, phew! Going into and elimination stage to calm things down, hopefully!

Been awhile since I posted. I'm 3 months into my rotation diet. The diet is no problem though I am a little tired of having the same foods every four days. I have absolutely no trace of arthritis in my body. Granted I am on Humira and have been for 3 months. I am now just starting to lengthn my time between HUmira shots and slowly wean myself off the HUmira.
Will update again..

That's wonderful news!!! I'm so glad to hear you are feeling better! I am almost there. I am not on any DMARDs yet so I still have one joint that is stubbornly slightly inflammed but no permanent damage so far. I have one medication which I need to come off of as I know I am reacting to it but it is a slow wean to get off of it permanently. I went to see a naturopathic doctor to get some help as I know I'm a difficult case to manage. I have fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis and so many chemical sensitivities that I cannot even drink water. I was relieved to hear that all of this can be cured after visiting the ND, including the heavy metal toxicity. Here is something of interest from my visit: The ND said that some rheumatologists are prescribing massive doses of Vitamin D (not really a vitamin...it's now considered a hormone). If you read the labelling for Vitamin D, it say that it helps with immune function. Well, apparently it's role is to help your body recognize what is your body (i.e don't attack it) and also correctly recognize what is foreign (i.e. just attack the foreign substances). Here in Canada, and especially on the East Coast where it is foggy and cloudy more often, some ppl need 5,000 IU of Vit D a day to keep their levels up. I just called for an appt with my family doctor so I can ask to have my levels of Vit D checked. I just thought it was an interesting new take on rheumatoid arthritis treatment......

Thats an interesting idea I've not heard that before. I get confused by the whole Vit D/ Calcium saga it seems to contradict itself a lot, or is it just me. We dont get much sunshine here either, although I tried extra Vit D supplements from the doctor they always made me feel sick?
